  • In Remembrance.. Steve Jobs (24 Feb 1955 - 5 Oct 2011

Steve Jobs.. the man had vision and heart…

To put it briefly Steve founded Apple, Apple being a revolutionary brand that has pushed and paved the way for global communications, giving us the Apple Macintosh Computers to the iPod, iPhone, iPad & iTunes.

Steve was also a Founder of Pixar.  Without Pixar we would never have the joys of Woody & Co..

Steve should be remembered as a great inventor.

Taken from the Speech Steve gave to Stanford University on 12th June 2005…

“When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: “If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right.” It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” And whenever the answer has been “No” for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something”.

    He then went onto say..

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Here is the link to that full speech that comes directly from the man himself, explaining where it all began (eating at the Hare Krishna Temple)..  —-> Steve Jobs <——-

I feel better reading that. I get from that, Steve enjoyed and utilized his time fully, so no more feeling incredibly sad he didn’t get to enjoy life more.. he did and thanks to Steve i enjoy mine too.  Even though I am working on my Apple G5 (I have my fave songs playing in the background via iTunes and my son is watching Toy Story 3)!

We appreciate what you achieved Steve, RIP xx

  • LovedBoutique.. on Designer Eating Moths

Moths are on the uprise in Great Britain!!

Guard your beloved Wang, Westwood and Whistles!!

What are moths? Here is a little story true & recent.. from The Daily Mail 2 June 2011…

“Pulling back the bed in her 5 year old son’s neat and cheerful bedroom to search for a lost toy, Lizzie was horrified by what she saw.  The expensive pure wool carpet that had been laid just months before was in tatters, littered with holes and clumps of half eaten wool!  It got worse when she inspected the wardrobes in her own bedroom.  Lizzie’s clothes including two £450 Alexander McQueen designer dresses were riddled with holes too. Even her T-Shirts had great chunks missing. Shock turned into revulsion when Lizzie found ‘tiny wriggly wormy things’.”

Those wriggly wormy things are ‘grubs’ the offspring of adult Moths (see below). Moths like to live in warm dark places and eat natural fibers such as Wool, Silk and Cotton, although Pure Wool is a fave so that includes your beloved Cashmere darling. They find these places to lay their eggs, once hatched they too feed ferociously on Clothing and alike.

If you love your garms, spesh your Vintage then please read on..

How to prevent Moths and keep your Vintage safe:

    • De-clutter regularly (take out and shake clothing that has been stored for a while).
    • Vacuum inside wardrobes, under beds etc..
    • Keep rooms aired, open windows/wardrobes to circulate air and disturb any Moth’station.
    • Store Vintage/older pieces carefully with breathable dress covers.
    • Cedar Balls - Moths hate the smell of cedar wood.
    • Lavender pouches - this too is a smell they detest.
    • Try the Moth Box - £6 from www.totalwardrobecare.co.uk
    • Also it has been recommended that for every new item you buy you should give or sell an old one to keep your wardrobe in good rotation.. so..

Keep selling and buying on www.lovedboutique.com! Be Merry & Moth Free!!
    xx
